Da Duder Does It Again

Recently I took a trip down to Tribeca for a meeting with fellow Harlemite and former Roc-A-Fella/Roc-A-Wear boss, Dame Dash, at his new DD172/BlakRoc office (Not sure about the rumors of his financial trouble 'cause his office is crazy. It includes an art gallery [see pictures below], 2 recording studios, offices, production rooms, and a conference area).

While at Dame's office, a few industry people stopped by: Swizz Beatz (music producer), Angie Martinez (Hot 97 radio personality), Pat Carney (drummer for Dame's new Rock group, The Black Keys), and rapper Curren$y.

But the highlight of my evening was recording two hot songs with legendary producer Ski (Jay-Z; 50 Cent; Camp-Lo; Sporty Thievez; and many more). Us recording together came out nowhere. It wasn't part of the plan; It just happened. That's what made it special. What's even crazier is that we left after Dame, closing the office down. Haha. I'm really excited about the joints we recorded though. I can't wait to let the public hear them. I definitely look forward to doing more work with Ski. He got that soul music I like. And he's a real cool brother.

Check out some miscellaneous pictures of the day/night below:

Rugz Thugz & Harmony

So today was a treat for me when my manager told me that he was going to a listening session for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Usually I'm not enthused to attend listening sessions but like I said, it was a "treat" being that they are one of my favorite groups of all-time. Like come on now, "East 1999,"  "Buhda Lovers," need I say more?

My boy Tone Status and I had a lil sippy sippy and took a listen.

Hard hittin beats, dope ass melodies, and official lyrics show me my Cleveland City hustlers still got it. They had one song with a M.J (Micheal Jackson) sample that was so dope but I doubt that sample would ever get cleared, but I wish it would.

After that I went to go check my homegirl Lady H and Jim Jones and played a few cuts off the "Bewler's Day Off" (mixtape). And we peeped out cuts off of Jim's new mixtape. And the mixtape ... Dope ... The intro ... Sick.

I'm tired and gotta wake up early...see my twins ... God Is Good.

Peace.

Another Day in the Life of Bewler

This past Saturday, me, my manager (Whales), and my Team Colours brethren (Fresh Boy Focus, pictured above) hit up the DJ Hero launch event (sponsored by Puma) in SoHo, NYC. Despite being a rainy day, we made the best of it. Real cool event.

We just missed DJ J. Period's set by the time we got there, but we did catch DJ Z-Trip, and boy was he doin' his thing on the turntables.

Got the opportunity to chop it up with J. Period for a minute.

Even did my thing on the the 1s & 2s of DJ Hero. All-in-all, it was another progressive day for Rugz D. Bewler.
